Scholarship to ACCE Convention available . . .
The CANYS Board has decided to partner with ACCE in providing two scholarships to ACCE’s Convention, August 11-13 in St. Louis. These scholarships will cover registration fees to the conference – up to a $709 value to you or another of your staff!
ACCE Conventions provide education, information, and networking opportunities for all chamber professionals. More information on the conference can be found HERE.
Applications for the scholarships are now being accepted! Please complete and return the FORM to be placed into consideration. The application deadline is May 2, 2005.
CANYS Institute Scholarship Winner . . .
Congratulations to Peter Aust, of The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County, winner of the 2005 CANYS scholarship to the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organizational Management. Peter will receive a $1,000 scholarship to help offset the costs of attending his second year of the 3-year U.S. Chamber-sponsored program. The selection committee of Jim Batsford (Schoharie County Chamber), John D’Ambrosio (Orange County Chamber), Rob Gladden (Geneva Area Chamber) and Betsy Sherman-Saunders (Oswego County Chamber) thanks each of the strong applicants for their submissions.
U.S. Chamber’s Eastern Region GAC conference . . .
Wednesday to Friday, October 5-7, 2005 is the date for the U.S. Chamber’s Eastern Region Governmental Affairs conference in Boston, MA. The 3-day conference is packed with comprehensive government affairs programming. Sessions feature provocative speakers and open, candid discussion so participants can learn about the latest government affairs practices and trends -- from nuts-and-bolts to advanced activities.

Congratulations to Cynthia Oswald of the Livingston County Chamber on having been invited to serve on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Council on Small Business. Members of the Council routinely help shape and advance the Chamber’s message and strong pro-business agenda. Council members are frequently called upon to testify before Congress on how government policies impact small business.
