Welcome Queens Chamber . . .
A new member has joined the Chamber Alliance! Kenneth Adams and
the CANYS Board wish a warm welcome to the Queens Chamber
of Commerce. The Queens Chamber was founded more than 90
years ago by 15 businessmen and 55 charter member businesses. Today,
more than 1,100 businesses take advantage of their membership in
the Queens chamber, through participation in events and expos, the
Chamber’s Annual Building Awards, and the QueensBorough
magazine and Online update. Queens is vibrant part of New
York City, with a population of more than two million people from
every corner of the globe. To learn more, or to send a note of congratulations
on behalf of your chamber, e-mail Queens’ president, Bill

As a follow up to the September 19th CANYS luncheon at which the
State University of New York made a presentation on how chambers
can partner with their local community colleges, SUNY is looking
for your input. The Office of the Vice Chancellor would like to
take its presentation to chambers who were unable to attend the
luncheon, or are thinking of developing a local partnership. Interested
chambers should contact Barbara Drago at dragoba@sysadm.suny.edu,
or call 518-443-5698. Rob Robinson at The Otsego County Chamber
is also interested in helping chambers form educational partnerships,
as he has with the Leatherstocking Center for Economic Education.
For more information on that, Call Rob at 1-877-OTSEGO or e-mail
rob@otsegocountychamber.com.
Got a question you’d like to ask other CANYS members? Job
opening in your chamber? Great idea you’d like to share? Send
it to maggie.moree@bcnys.org.
