Membership data requested . . .

If you haven't already returned Joan Testa's request for statistics on your chamber, please do so today! Chamber Development Services, Inc. is compiling information on dues structures, saturation rates, retention rates, and income sources, which will be compared to national data and presented in the workshop, "Growing Your Chamber" at the Legislative and Leadership Conference, January 20-21.

In order to have complete data, please take a moment to complete the SURVEY and fax it to Joan at 800-584-0321, or e-mail the information to joan@chamberdevelopment.com. Chamber names, cities and executives will be kept confidential -- but Joan needs them to avoid duplication when compiling the results.

Of interest to your members in agriculture . . .

The New York Department of Agriculture and Markets has announced several programs to assist Food and Agricultural Producers in growing their sales.

Northeast Buyer Mission: Buyers from 20 countries will visit Pennsylvania and New York in mid-January. The buyers have been pre-qualified by the Foreign Agricultural Service and In-Market Representatives. Each buyer represents a key distributor, retail or food service chain. They have provided a list of products they are interested in buying from US and Northeast Suppliers. One-on-one meetings will be scheduled in Harrisburg, PA on January 12, Philadelphia on January 14, and Manhattan on January 15. Participation fee for suppliers is $75. To register or for more information contact Kathryn Bamberger at the Department or Doug Resh at Food Export USA Northeast (215-829-9111) or visit www.foodexportusa.org.

The MAP Branded Program is now accepting applications for export marketing expenses now through September, 2004. The program will reimburse up to half of qualified marketing expenses including trade show displays, brochures and catalogs, advertisements, and more. A list of approved domestic trade shows including the FMI and the NRA can be viewed at www.brandedprogram.org.
