Chambers of Commerce, their members and the entire business community in NYS is being severely impacted with this worldwide pandemic. Chambers are reaching out to ascertain what resources or insights can be provided to assist with mitigating these impacts with businesses in their communities. Know that CANYS is constantly monitoring the situation and will pass along relevant information to you as it becomes available.Both President Trump and Governor Cuomo have announced proposals for small business assistance/relief packages and as details continue to emerge, we will provide them to you.In the meantime, CANYS has compiled the following links and documents to assist Chambers of Commerce mitigate the impacts this pandemic is having on their business community and community in general. RECAP - CANYS ‘Winter Symposium' provided insights, tools and networking for attendees.
With over 35 in attendance, the 2020 Winter Symposium in Albany was an excellent forum that allowed participants to network with NYS Legislative leaders and fellow chamber professionals, learn from key US Chamber staff on their innovative workforce development intiative, Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) and hear from the Business Council of NYS, Unshackle Upstate, and the Empire Center about the specific challenges being faced in this legislative session that will have significant impacts on businesses across the state.
In addition to sharing some photos from the conference, presentations on the TPM from the US Chamber and the Buffalo Niagara Partnership are being shared and are available via email.
